The business space needs to be safe above all. Meinert accounts a story of a woman who was a legal immigrant and felt unsafe in her work. Verbal and physical abuse should not be tolerated in the workplace. It can create an inhabitable work zone, which could cause loss of employees.
Each company has its own code of ethics, but discrimination and abuse are legal issues that should not be handled lightly. HR companies can be hired on to boost morale and give advice on how to hire the right people so that is not an issue. HR companies can help instill policies and procedures to hire and train the right employees who will help make the work environment safe for everyone.
