Amy Preston graduated from Michigan State University from the College of Business, with a dual degree in Purchasing and Operations. She began her career with Nestle in operations where she was responsible for hiring and training individuals for special projects.
Amy then transitioned into the area of consulting with an independent firm, specializing in warehouse and operational efficiencies. Her main responsibilities involved analyzing current procedures and product storage space to identify areas of opportunity.
From there, she pursued her procurement passion and worked for U.S. Foodservice in the areas of product and marketing management. Starting as a category manager, Amy was responsible for growing multi-million dollar food categories. From there she became the marketing manager and oversaw statewide trade shows, sales training meetings, and vendor relations. Amy's career culminated while in program management, overseeing all aspects of vendor negotiations and program performances. She was the liaison between sales, purchasing, finance, and suppliers.
Amy enjoys yoga, reading, traveling worldwide, and mountain biking. Upon qualifying, she had the honor of running the Boston Marathon, bringing her lifetime total to 10 marathons.
